1. What is the status of this project?

Rebellos, serg, nbates, mijoma are working on the 'bootloader'. The bootloader is what will allow you to run android kernel on your phone without a device called 'jtag'
EDIT May 12-- The developers have succesfully been able to boot android kernel on the wave. The drivers for the screen don't seem to be working at the moment but with the help of a UART cable and debug info, the booting of the kernel has been confirmed. --

Oleg is working on the drivers for the android kernel for Samsung Wave's hardware. He is currently working on drivers for optical sensor, accelerometer, compas. Drivers for the modem is still pending. Modem is the part that allows calls to be made from the phone.

The work required to make android possible on wave is not easy at all and is not the kind of work that will be done overnight.
Rought estimate-- 4-8 weeks for the first alpha version. This still depends on how much time the developers are able to dedicate to this project and many other roadbloacks that they might run into.

Making a new post in the main thread for the project just clutters up everything so please don't do it. For now dual booting is not on priority. A simple boot loader that works has not been achieved yet so dual booting etc will have to wait.
[While not exactly a priority, the nature of our execution method from moviNAND/sdcard kinda makes dual booting a given, currently we execute the Linux Android kernel by holding call and power buttons to start the phone, while using just the power button to start Bada. -- nbates66]

This is thinking too far ahead into the future!.. Wave's hardware is similar but not identical to any other phone so a rom made for another phone will probably not work perfectly on the wave. The modifications required however might be relatively few in the case of roms built for galaxy so 'probably' will not take long before they become available for wave too.
