Vodafone Apn Settings Help
Hi All,
To help out with some of the questions we get about which APN (Access Point Name) you need to use while browsing on your mobile, we've put together the below guide. Before getting started you would need to make sure your phone has the correct WAP and Internet settings installed. If you're not already set up then you can get more help on our Vodafone WAP and Internet Settings thread,
What's an APN?
APN stands for Access Point Name, and is perhaps best thought of as a ‘gate’ or ‘portal’ through to reaching the internet. Different APN’s have different properties, and so there are benefits and features to using them appropriately.
When attempting to connect to an internet-based service (say, the browser, or email), most phones will normally prompt the user with APN options. It’s important that you connect through the right one, otherwise the service might not even work. Our quick guide will explain what all the different APNs are, and the ones that you need to go through to make the correct connection.
For example, a user’s APN list might resemble in part the following:
1 – Contract Internet
2 – Contract WAP
3 – PAYT Internet
4 – PAYT WAP
Contract Internet
