Brilliant Point-And-Click Adventure

by krazyfingerzz This is a slick game from start to finish - top of the line artwork, voice acting, and gameplay. You are Nick Chase, former cop turned PI. While the story may not seem original - mysterious call to solve a case amidst bills that are piling up and a phone that doesn't often ring - it should get you ready for a film noir adventure that's thoroughly enjoyable and novel in its own right. And you jump right into that story, starting with feeding Felix the fish and locating the mysterious caller's letter among numerous envelopes hidden and scattered over the room. As the story progresses, you must gather various items and then figure out how to combine them in order to use them to move on to the next part. This includes reassembling a machine in a lab in order to test blood found at the crime scene, and creating your own ID to the Golden Cat's Club. The latter is a good example of how intricate the game play is. Before you can even get to the Club, you need to solve a puzzle (timed) that involves placing sections of street to connect point A to point B. It's not as simple as selecting a piece and rotating it until it fits, either. You are given a succession of pieces, in an order designated by the game. They cannot be rotated but they can be placed in the trash if they won't fit where you want them to. The catch is two-fold: the trash can fill up, and you can run out of time. The nice thing is that if you get stuck on any of these puzzles, you can hit the Skip button. Along the way you can collect bullets which work as hints and which can be found in each scene. These hints cannot be used in the puzzle spots, but rather when you are in a room/scene and cannot find a piece of something. The artwork is some of the best, and each scene starts out as a black and white sketch, which colorizes as your part begins. The voices are well done, and the jazzy background music fits the game perfectly. It really is an example of a very well-done game, and should appeal to a wide audience as it includes everything a good adventure game should have, like puzzles and plot, in addition to hidden object fun. This is one game truly worth the price of admission, and as always, you can go to Big Fish online and try it out for free. Awesome job...now can we get MCF, too?

Favorite Big Fish game so far!!

by Sir.Wiggles This is my favorite release so far! I'm playing on my 3GS and the game is highly polished. The scenes are drawn beautifully, the voice over is intriguing, and the story is actually quite good! If you're wondering if this is another hidden object game, think again. Yes, you do find objects, but they aren't just random items scattered across the scene. The items are always related to the setting, and most of the time you have to figure out what the heck to do with it! I've heard the term IHOG (interactive hidden object game) is the best to describe this. I can't wait for the Lite version to come out for some of my skeptical friends, but from what I've played, this game is FAR worth the $4.99 price tag. Go. Buy. It.

Casablanca with puzzels!
