MOTOROLA C115 de radyasyon tehlikesi
İki katı radyasyon yaydığı belirlenen cep telefonları ile ilgili bir değerlendirme yapan Tüketiciler Birliği Genel Başkan Yardımcısı
“Rus Prime-Tass Ajansı’nın 25 Nisan 2006 ve 23 Mayıs 2006 tarihlerinde yayınlamış olduğu haberlere göre, Rus İstihbarat birimleri, düşük bedel beyanı ile ülkelerine giren 167.500 adet Motorola C-115 cep telefonunu, Rusya’nın en büyük telefon dağıtıcısı Euroset’in deposunda yakalanmış ve telefonlara el konulmuştur. Yapılan incelemelerde, bu telefonların uluslararası standartların iki katından fazla radyasyon yaydığı tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca uluslararası standartlardan iki kat fazla radyasyon yaydığı belirlenen bu telefonların, diğer bazı ülke pazarlarına da değişik yöntemlerle sokulduğu anlaşılmıştır. Yakalanan bu telefonların 50.000 adedi imha edilmiş, kalan 117.500 telefon da Motorola firması tarafından değiştirme garanti verilerek geri alınmış ve değiştirilmiştir.
Yayınlanan bu haberlerin devamında Motorola firması tarafından geri alınan 117,500 adet C-115 cep telefonunun, aralarında ülkemizin de bulunduğu gümrük incelemeleri ve radyasyon ölçümleri konusunda zafiyetleri olan ülkelere gönderilmiş olabileceği belirtilmektedir.
Haberde yer alan bu bilgilerin doğru olması halinde Türkiye tüketicisi ciddi bir tehlike ile karşı karşıya bulunmaktadır. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti makamlarını ve tüketicileri bu ürünler konusunda uyarıyoruz. Zaten büyük radyasyon tehlikesi içeren cep telefonlarının belirlenen standartların üzerinde olması halinde telafisi güç sorunlar ortaya çıkacaktır. Bu nedenle gerek Sanayi ve Ticaret Bakanlığı, Telekomünikasyon Kurumu, Dış Ticaret Müsteşarlığı, Sağlık Bakanlığı, Çevre Bakanlığı yetkililerinden ve gerekse haberde ismi geçen firmadan, ülkemize ithal edilen cep telefonlarının gerekli denetimlerinin yapılarak satışa sunulduğu konusunda tatmin edici yazılı açıklama bekliyoruz. Ayrıca son dönemde Motorola C-115 marka cep telefonu satın alan tüketicileri de uyarıyoruz” dedi.
MOSCOW, LONDON, April 25 (Prime-Tass) -- The Russian Interior Ministry started Tuesday destroying 50,000 Motorola C115 mobile handsets that were earlier seized from Russia's largest mobile handset retailer Euroset, Irina Zubarev, a spokeswoman with the ministry's K department, said Tuesday, ITAR-TASS reported.
The K department is responsible in particular for fighting illegal imports of electronic equipment.
The ministry said that it had decided to destroy the handsets after tests showed that electromagnetic radiation from the handsets were twice the acceptable levels.
The police seized a total of 167,500 Motorola mobile handsets worth 530 million rubles from Euroset on March 31, after the handsets had gone through customs clearance.
Euroset's Chairan Yevgeny Chichvarkin said that Motorola should supply Euroset with another batch of 50,000 Motorola C115 handsets as compensation for the destroyed phones.
"We won't pay for them," Chichvarkin said, adding that Euroset only purchases handsets that meet all health and safety regulations.
Motorola representatives said earlier that the seized handsets had all the necessary certificates and had been approved for sale in Russia.
The status of the remaining seized handsets is unclear. The average retail price of Motorola C115 in Russia amounts to 1,200 rubles.
MOSCOW, May 23 (Prime-Tass) -- Senior representatives of Motorola, Tuesday criticized the way Russian authorities handled the seizure and subsequent destruction of its handsets on the grounds they were unsafe. "Any suggestion that Motorola products sold in Russia are not completely safe, or have not received official state safety certifications, is absolutely false," the company's corporate vice president, Greg Estell, said in a statement. Russian police seized 167,500 mobile phones destined for electronics retailer Euroset at the end of March, alleging they were counterfeit. They later destroyed 50,000 C115 handsets, which they said were unsafe for sale to consumers.
Scott Offer, Motorola's vice president for legal matters, told a pres conference Russian police "received a report from a non-accredited test house, which reached the wrong conclusions."
He said Motorola was exploring all legal remedies open to it and plans to start court proceedings in the near future. "We will pick our targets carefully," he said, although declined to give further details. Offer said Motorola had been discussing the issue with the Russian authorities and that the remaining 117,500 handsets would be retained as evidence and wouldn't be destroyed. Estell in the statement said Motorola has received support from within the government and was "extremely encouraged" by what it had heard from them recently.
The issue of corruption was a major part of President Vladimir Putin's recent state-of-the-nation address. The customs service, which often has the finger pointed at it in relation to grey imports of goods, was subsequently brought under the control of Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov. Fradkov and Economy Minister German Gref also discussed corruption during a meeting last week.
Motorola also disputed a patent claim made against it by a small Russian company. "The claims by RUS GPS that Motorola infringed its patent are without merit," Alan Buddendeck, Motorola's head of global communications, told journalists.
"Moreover, the claims are suspicious in light of the recent seizures and destruction of our products," he added. Offer said RUS GPS has no basis on which to challenge Motorola and expressed surprise that the claim was being made via the criminal courts rather than the arbitration courts, which usually deal with such disputes.
"We believe this is an opportunistic attempt to ride on a bandwagon of some momentum," he said.
Offer said lawsuits in relation to defamation, abuse of patent rights and unfair competition would be initiated against RUS GPS "within days." He also said Motorola lawyers were investigating possible connections between RUS GPS and Rimco-XXI, which claims to have filed the patent in question originally before selling the rights to RUS GPS.
